About the Business & The Opportunity

Parwan Protein & Tallow (PP&T) was established in 2023, and forms part of the L&G Meats portfolio, as a downstream processing facility from their Westside Meats (meat works) operations in Bacchus Marsh.

Since the inception in 2023, this state-of-the-art protein and oil recovery facility, located in Parwan, has attracted significant attention from across the meat and resource recovery (rendering) industries. With approvals in place to expand with a further four PP&T facilities, the strategic plan spans more than 10 years.   

This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing business, with ambitions to create new standards across the rendering industry. Australian Rendering Association training and accreditation programs (run by AusMeat) are referencing this project as the ‘future of industry’, and with recent visitors from Federal Government (Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Foresty – DAFF), all key stakeholders are well briefed and supportive of the roadmap to expand in the years to come.


Responsibilities:

  • Operating state-of-the-art machinery to produce high-quality animal protein products.

  • Monitoring system processes & operating via SCADA to ensure seamless production.

  • Conducting quality tests to uphold the highest QA standards.

  • Load, unload and move materials in Plant.

  • Clean work areas, machines and equipment in the plant including cooking processing equipment. (cookers, augers, process tanks, etc.)

  • Must have a professional work attitude and ability to work with limited supervision.

  • Follow department and company procedures.

  • Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company.

  • Other duties as assigned. 


Requirements: 

  • Relevant experience; preferably in a rendering environment. Experience in food manufacturing or engineering would also be considered.

  • Organizational skills and the capability to cope with a variety of priorities and demands.

  • Communicate effectively and work well within a team.

  • A good standard of computer literacy and administrative experience.

  • A strong commitment to Health and Safety.

  • Being reliable, having a good attitude, good communication skills.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
