From unwanted to desirable
The heart of the facility is the ‘rendering’ process, a term that means ‘to give back’.
How does it work? Heat treatment of raw material to destroy bacteria, remove moisture and create protein meal and oil (tallow).
The Process
Parwan Protein & Tallow (PP&T) upcycles meat industry co-products diverted from going to landfill. Our highly automated process fundamentally converts these co-product inputs, into higher value outputs, while managing the delicate logistical, safety and biosecurity challenges that surround the process.
Innovative odour control and wastewater management technologies also underpin the PP&T resource recovery process, and set the business up for future growth and expansion.
The Australian meat and livestock industry produce significant volumes of food for Australians each year.
Our resource recovery process converts the co-products from this industry to create protein meal and oil, supporting biofuel, pet and animal feed, fertiliser, and cosmetic downstream markets.
